Dr. Nguyen Van Thuan is Dean of the School of Biotechnology (https://bt.hcmiu.edu.vn/en/) – International University (https://hcmiu.edu.vn/en/) – Vietnam National University of Hochiminh City (https://vnuhcm.edu.vn/). He is also Chair of the Department of Biotechnology (https://bt.hcmiu.edu.vn/en/about-us/depts/biotech/).
Research in Dr. Thuan’s Lab (http://crl.bio.hcmiu.edu.vn/) is focused on genomic reprogramming, embryonic stem (ES) cells and iPS cells, differentiation of embryo during the early development, germ cells, epigenetic reprogramming, transgenic animals, and regenerative biomedicine. Dr. Nguyen Van Thuan obtained his Ph.D. in the field of Biosystem Application in 2002 from Kobe University, Japan. Prior to coming to International University – VNU.HCM, Dr. Nguyen Van Thuan is Professor at Department of Animal Biotechnology, Konkuk University, Seoul, Korea (2007-2012). Before that. Dr. Thuan is a special research scientist at the Laboratory for genomic reprogramming, Center for Developmental Biology, RIKEN Institute, Japan, a world-class research institute in Developmental Biology (2002-2007). Dr. Nguyen Van Thuan is a founder and chairman of Asian Reproductive Biotechnology Society (ARBS, http://www.arbsociety.org/) from 2004-2013. Dr. Nguyen Van Thuan is referee for many scientific journals; Biology of Reproduction (USA), Reproduction (England), Theriogenology (USA), Developmental Biology (USA), Journal of Reproduction and Development (Japan). The Journal of Veterinary Medical Science (Japan), Human Reproduction (England), Fertility and Development (Australia), Development (England), Cloning and Stem cells (England), Cell cycle etc… He is a member of the International Embryo Transfer Society (IETS, USA), Society for the Study of Reproduction (SSR, USA), Society of Reproduction and Development (JRD, Japan) and Asian Reproductive Biotechnology Society.
